Hi, I'm Maggie!

I'm an author / illustrator / designer and all-around book lover. I grew up on the southern coast of Maine and studied design and art history at Penn. For seven years, I worked in-house for two major children’s publishers where I designed, art directed, and illustrated dozens of covers. I’ve worked on Newbery Medal-winners, Printz Honor recipients, a National Book Award shortlisted title, and numerous New York Times bestsellers.

Now a full time author / illustrator, I live in Poughkeepsie, NY, with my football coach husband, Mike; our toddler son; and our dog, Moose.

My debut graphic novel, SMALLER SISTER, published in 2022 with Roaring Brook / Macmillan. It received starred reviews from SLJ and Kirkus and was an ALSC Notable Children’s Book of 2023. My second graphic novel, BABY STEPS, will publish in 2026.

My debut picture book, LITTLE GHOST MAKES A FRIEND, will publish with Paula Wiseman Books / Simon & Schuster in 2024.
