Every Monday, I'm going to be posting a sneak peek into something I'm currently working on. This week I'm featuring an in-progress surface pattern collection called Paloma. It's not quite complete, and I'm still planning on adding about three more patterns to the group before its complete, but it's shaping up nicely.
These patterns are based on a trip I took with my boyfriend last year to Tucson. It was a terrific vacation for us as a couple, but it was also just one of the most beautiful places I'd ever been. I've been in love with the desert for a long time, but this trip solidified, and the colors and patterns I saw there have been dancing around in my brain ever since.
The collection is called Paloma because that cocktail has become a special thing for the two of us. On our second date, we went to a bottomless Mexican brunch near my old apartment in the Upper East Side and spent a whole Saturday drinking Palomas and getting to know each other. When we were choosing a hotel for our trip to Tucson, we came across La Paloma and immediately went for it, because of course it had to be a sign!
If you want a little Paloma in your life, prints with these patterns are already available for purchase in my Society6 store!
